Website Hosting Move
The following process must be followed to avoid an interruption
to website service.
- Website updates should be put on hold during this transition
- Get a copy of your entire site to us by one of two methods:
- either provide FTP access to your current location for us
to retrieve the entire site
- or have your current developer save a copy to CD and mail
it to us
- the second approach, CD, is usually more comprehensive because
we should be provided with Photoshop files and other files
that may not reside on the server but that will be helpful
for future design changes
- Allow us two days to establish a duplicate website; we will
notify you when complete
- If you have email pop boxes, be sure to check your mail frequently
during this process so no mail will be lost
- Obtain the login information to your domain registration or
have your current developer or registrar help you change the DNS
to ns1.madriveraccess.com and ns2.madriveraccess.com. See our
hints on domain transfer if needed.
- Have your current host leave your site up for two weeks after
the domain transfer occurs so that the transfer will have adequate
time to filter through the internet
